Architecture of East 42nd Street Tour

On this tour you will learn about the varied architectural styles along East 42nd Street from the Chrysler Building to the Bryant Park. The tour covers Beaux Arts, Art Deco, International, Modern, and Super Tall style buildings, as well as the landscape architecture of Bryant Park. In addition to the architecture of the buildings we also talk about the history of Midtown and some characters associated with these properties.

Closest subway stop is Grand Central Terminal. We will meet outside of the Juice Generation located at the southwest corner of 3rd Ave. and E. 42nd St.

NYC gets all four seasons. Please check the weather forecast both before and on the day of your scheduled tour. Keep in mind that the tours last between 1.5 to to 2 hours.

As of now it is considered safe to not wear a mask outside in NYC if you are fully vaccinated. Tour participants are not expected to wear masks or socially distance, except for the inside portions of our Grand Central Tour and tours that take place outside after dark (no UV light). We do not check the vaccination status of tour participants. All participants do so at their own risk.

 

When the facts change, we change our policies. This portion of the site will be updated as new information and guidance from public health authorities becomes available.
