Central Park Tour

$35.00 per person (email for group rates)
Urban planning, Gilded Age excess, geology, John Lennon, and even a failed mob hit are just some of the things we’ll learn about on this tour. Before entering the park, we’ll examine the need for Central Park and the events leading up to its construction. While walking through the park from Grand Army Plaza to the Dakota we’ll discuss things both inside the park and nearby. There is something for everyone as this tour covers subjects ranging from urban planning, nature, NYC history, landscape architecture, and colorful stories about the nearby buildings.

Note: Don’t go to the Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn near Prospect Park! We will meet at the intersection of 5th Ave and 59th St in Manhattan under the gold statue of a woman leading a man on a horse to victory. The closest subway stop is the 5th Ave. NRW.

FAQ

NYC gets all four seasons. Please check the weather forecast both before and on the day of your scheduled tour. Keep in mind that the tours last between 1.5 to to 2 hours.

As of now it is considered safe to not wear a mask outside in NYC if you are fully vaccinated. Tour participants are not expected to wear masks or socially distance, except for the inside portions of our Grand Central Tour and tours that take place outside after dark (no UV light). We do not check the vaccination status of tour participants. All participants do so at their own risk.

 

When the facts change, we change our policies. This portion of the site will be updated as new information and guidance from public health authorities becomes available.

For a full refund, cancellations should be made within 2 hours of the respective tour start time. Please email tours@nerdherdtours.com to cancel. A call/text to 646 854 9242 will be appreciated.
